Meet Miss Oktoberfest 2018…
Daniella Gruenthal!

Photos of Event

It was a beautiful night full of glitz, glamour and Gemütlichkeit! Designed to build anticipation of our Oktoberfest to the community and media, we had fantastic entertainment and a tough choice among 8 exquisite finalists vying to represent our biggest fundraiser of the year.

The KVJ Show’s Virginia Sinicki was special guest M.C., and our panel of judges were selected for their great interest and respect for our club, perfectly poised to make our search as fair as possible: WPEC CBS 12 News Anchor Teri Hornstein, Vice-President of the West Palm 100 Todd Bonlarron, WIRK Country K’s Chelsea Taylor, and Biergarten Boca Partner Eric Brinkmann.

Though we had many entries, our selection committee narrowed down to 8 finalists. Each finalists’ entry essay was read by the judges and scored in advance as part of a five-category, five-level evaluation process. The essays were considered to gauge contestant interest in German culture and active volunteerism.

Contestants

Our new Miss Oktoberfest is the lovely Daniella Gruenthal, a proud first generation German-American. Daniella’s education in architecture led her to international travel, which helped develop her passion for humanitarian aid. She has led endeavors such as rebuilding an orphanage in the Bahamas, building for the homeless with Habitat for Humanity, and starting her own non-profit organization building domes after witnessing the devastating effects of natural disasters on low-income housing.

Over the years, she has celebrated many special moments with her parents, oma and opa at the American German Club, and is excited to represent the club and our programs at community events over the next year as our Miss Oktoberfest 2018!

You can see photos of the pageant in our photo gallery – maybe you’re in the shots! Months of preparation were put into making the evening a success; my most heartfelt thanks to everyone who volunteered in the kitchen and at the front door, worked for weeks taking reservations requests, and the committee members who helped keep things running smoothly on pageant night – PROST!
